There’s a lot of nonsense spoken about the British in France. The cultural stereotype is that the British won’t speak French and the French won’t speak English! This could not be further from the truth, as I discovered this week in my local bar when we all made ourselves happily understood.
Driving in France is still a genuine pleasure, with great cars and wide open roads. There is plenty of paperwork and rules, but it’s all intended to keep you safe, as a car buyer as well as a driver.
If you want to get the most out of living in France, you need to slow down and smell the coffee. Find those little tucked away restaurants, enjoy every course that’s on offer, and no phones at the table!
