From stunning stone builds to welcoming family villas, find the ideal home in the Peloponnese for you.

Home to the vibrant city of Patras, beautiful Mount Taygetos and not one but five UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Peloponnese is a terrific area to search for a home. The Peloponnese is connected to mainland Greece by the Isthmus of Cornith, or the “neck”, which refers to a narrow strip of land that attaches the two.  Resembling a leaf, the Peloponnese is divided into four peninsulas, each with its own personality. As well as being home to well-known towns like Corinth and Nafplio, it is also made up of seaside villages that would suit those looking for a sunny, laidback life by the water.

The Peloponnese is served by Kalamata airport, with flights to the UK lasting from April to October, as offered by EasyJet and Ryan air. If you’re a fan of ferry rides, then the Peloponnese is great for that too.

Starting with a home for sale for €150,000, here is my pick of pretty Peloponnese properties (in price order).

1. One-bedroom, Argolis, €150,000

 two-storey stone house.

If, like me, part of the reason you fell in love with Greece was for its beautiful stone buildings, you will want to see this one-bedroom two-story stone manor. It possesses a wooden ceiling, energy efficient stainless-steel fireplace, air conditioner, double glazed windows and a covered terrace. You’ll also get a garden!

It is located in the traditional settlement of Ligurio and is just 2km from the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Once of the most carefully preserved theatres in Greece, it dates all the way back to the late 4th century.

2. Three-bedroom, Messinia, Peloponnese, €170,000

old house

This home has been around for 100 years!

Built a hundred years ago and revamped in 2007, this three-bedroom property offers cosy village home vibes. It has a garden with flowers and fruit trees. One lucky person in the home will have a bedroom with their own balcony.

Plus, if you are seeking the quiet village life, this property will suit you. Evangelismos is not touched by tourism but there’s a café, taverna and mini market.

Then, the beach of Mavrovouni is just six minutes away by car. For a change of sand, head to Finikounda, nine minutes away.

3. Two-bedroom, Paralio Astros, €250,000

stone house

Check this out – its just 50 m from the sea!

This is a set of five independent stone houses in the residential area of Paralio Astros. The properties are built with traditional stone and Oregon pine to give them an authentic feel, but they boast of modern features too, such as a fully furnished kitchen.

Wonderfully, they are just 50 metres from the sea.

Could buying off-plan in Greece work for you?

4. Three-bedroom, Korinthia, €260,000

A must-see view.

The real wonder of this home is the sea views that you’ll get from your garden. Imagine breathing in the fresh air and absorbing it all.

Plus, the property is well-located: it is near the vibrant city of Corinth, and it is just an hour and a half from the international airport of Athens.

5. Three-bedroom, Argolis, €345,000

Three-bedroom for €345,000.

Welcome to this lovely three-bedroom villa, it boasts of: three bathrooms (thank goodness, no fights over using it); balconies for the splendid views and an outdoor space with a barbeque. Your green finger can tend to the figs, olives, pomegranates, oranges and pears!

It is: 150 metres from the beach; 20km from the city of Nafpilo; and 150km from Athens.

6. Three-bedroom, Finikounda, €350,000

Meet “Villa Eden” – yes, that’s really its name.

Not quite new but young enough (this villa was built between 2009-2010), this single storey home is a really great find. It was finished off by an Italian architect and boasts of Italian furniture. The main house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Additionally, there’s a one-bedroom guest house connected to the main.

The villa is surrounded by a fence made of local stone. The garden is planted with twelve olive trees, as well as orange, lemon and fig trees.

You’ll feel safe as houses here as the property is built according to Greek anti-earthquake regulations, with reinforced concrete and heavy brick side walls.

The home is in the village of Methoni, which has a Venetian castle as its centrepiece. It also has a pharmacy, post office, supermarkets and taverns.

It is 20 minutes (by car) to the seaside town of Pylos. The nearest golf course is 25 minutes away.

7. Five-bedroom, Paralia Alissou, €390,000

See the sea right there.

Seeking a seafront villa? Slide your eyes this way! Naturally, you’ve got a veranda and terraces (including one on the roof) to really appreciate the specialness of owning a seafront home.

The city of Patras, Delphi and the unique forest of Strofylia are easy drives away.

8. Four-bedroom, Arkadia, €410,000

A dreamy villa.

Love the water? If this property were yours, you could look out to sea from your swimming pool! Or your veranda. Or your living room with its own fireplace.

This villa is situated in Kiveri, known for being the bluest in Argolidikos Bay. Nafpilo is nearby.

9. Five-bedroom, Arkadiko Chorio, €550,000

Three-story detached house.

This gorgeous home is 150 metres from the sea, overlooking the Zaritsi Bay. Built in 2012, it is in pristine condition. From the terraces, you’ll get to make the most of these views.

Crucially, this property is fitted with an elevator. There’s also parking space for two cars.

The Peloponnese has so much to discover
