We look at why Greece’s high-end property market grows from strength to strength. Plus, a glance at our own high-end homes.
According to data provided by the Bank of Greece, the high-end property market is providing a welcome boost to the economy. In the first three months of 2023, foreign direct investments increased by 32.9% year-on-year. The Bank of Greece’s “Monetary Policy 2022-23” report revealed that this equaled to €0.5 billion. This follows on from a dynamic year for 2022, when the average annual increase of foreign direct investment was 68%, €2 billion.
The report foresees that high-end properties in Greece will continue to be attractive to overseas buyers. This is despite the rising costs of materials and energy.
There is a strong demand for modern properties boasting of high-tech features. However, due to a limited supply of such homes, there is also a price increase on properties with lower technical specifications.
